DAMASCUS HUNTING KNIFE CARE
The buck knives are designed for cutting:
Please do not throw, pound, pry or seal with a buck knife. It's not safe, if you damage the knife using it this way, it may void the warranty. Strong impact or twisting can also damage the knife, or worse, cause injury. If you have a lock code, always make sure that the lock mechanism has secured the blade open before using it.
Knife Care Instructions
- · Buck knives are built to last. Cleaning and care of the knife will maintain performance and enhance the life of your knife.
- · Keep the knife dry This means the knife is full, not just the blade.
- · Keep the knife clean, especially moving parts and locking devices.
- · Keep your knife fit. Especially pivot points and code. Oil at least twice a year.
- · Keep your knife sharp. The sharp blade is safer than the blade.
- · Do not try to repair the damaged knife yourself. Send it to us and we will do our best to make it as good as new.
- · Store your knife in a dry place.
Clean the entire knife regularly
This includes the code, pivot points, and lock mechanism. It is best not to immerse the knife in the liquid. But if you do, make sure to dry the knife completely. Spray cleaners are a good alternative. Clean and oil your oil regularly to avoid adhesive residues, oxidation of the light surface and rust beginnings. Always lubricate the knife after cleaning, we recommend using wax lubricant. It will lubricate, seal and protect your knife from surface oxidation and corrosion of moisture.
Cleanliness is recommended
· We recommend that you use a light, fluid-free cleanser on your knife and recycle regularly.
· Non-abrasive coating can be used to remove surface oxidation, rust or deformation. Sticker residue can be removed on your blades and other steel parts using light cleaning materials.
· To clean the handles, moderate cleaning agents are recommended.
· Do not use harsh detergents that contain washing machine powders such as chlorine. They can speed up metal erosion.
Discoloration is a sign of oxygen
· If you find that the metal has a blue, gray or black color, this is proof of oxidation and rust rusts.
· Stainless steel, which is used by a buck, does not change easily. If you notice a change in the color of the metal, clean it immediately. It's a sign of just waiting for it to happen.
· Color change is common in non-stainless steel. But regular cleaning will keep rust from rust.
Get rid of the RUST
· Rust is brownish-red and will eat holes in the blade and contaminate what you cut. Light rust can be cleaned and removed with oil. Heavy rust requires more abrasive movement.
· Non-abrasive metal coating can be used to remove rust.
